Statement on Mental Health

Mental Health is Critical.

Although its effects are not aways tangible, absence of good mental health can impact a non-exhaustive list of things.

  1. Happiness and well-being: Emotional, psychological, social contentment are controlled in large by mental health.

  2. Healthy Relationships: How we are feeling internally reflects on to other people. Taking care of ourselves ties into how we build and maintain relationships.

  3. Quality of life: Poor mental health often adds a pessimistic view to life. Improving mental health can aid in positivity and the fulfillment felt in our lives.

  4. Motivation: Mental health and cognition are tightly linked. The way we think about productivity and performance is positively amplified by good mental health.

  5. Physical Health: Poor mental health often seeps into our physical health. Neglecting mental health can increase experiences with diseases and disorders.

Recognizing the importance of mental health is the first step to spreading awareness. For years, mental health has been denoted as unimportant, non-existent, or embarrassing. Acceptance has increased over the years, but many with mental health illnesses do not have the resources to alleviate their ailment. Spreading awareness and promoting the benefits of mental health can elevate not only our lives but also society.
